Shooting At Red Bank Apartment Complex Investigated By Police

RED BANK, NJ — A shooting that injured a borough man at Montgomery Terrace in Red Bank early Tuesday morning is being investigated by police.

Police said the man, 30, was being treated at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after he was injured in the shooting at the Montgomery Terrace public housing complex.

At about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, Red Bank police were called to the housing complex for a report of gunshots.

In addition to finding evidence of someone "physically injured," police discovered numerous shell casings, police said.

A 30-year-old borough man was located at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, brought there for two gunshot wounds. The victim had been transported to Riverview by family and friends, police said.

Once the victim was determined to be stable, he was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment, police said.

The incident is being investigated by the Red Bank police department with the assistance of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit.

According to the borough website, the Red Bank public housing program consists of 90 units located at two sites in Red Bank, including Montgomery Terrace, which has 40 units of family public housing. Evergreen Terrace has 50 units of elderly, disabled and handicapped public housing, the website says.
