Shrewsbury Police Investigating Illegal Dumping, Bad Check, Unattended Child

Incidents occurred between Aug. 19 and 23.


Shrewsbury police are investigating the following incidents:


• It was reported to police that a child was left unattended in a vehicle parked at The Grove, Broad Street, on Aug. 23. When police arrived, they found the child alone in the vehicle, as reported, and turned the case over to DYFS for further investigation. Officer Jessica Boyd responded.


• Staff at Naylor's Auto, Shrewsbury Avenue, reported on Aug. 21 that a customer intentionally passed a bad $1,143.61 check for services rendered. Patrolman Derek Myers is investigating.

• Police responded on Aug. 19 to a report of alleged illegal dumping in the area of Sunnybank Drive. The victim reported that debris from several large trees was deposited onto their property. Officer Jessica Boyd is investigating.
