Stadium At Count Basie Park In Red Bank Reopened After 2 Months
A worker shortage delayed the project by about a month, but the stadium now has a brand new field turf.

RED BANK — The stadium at Count Basie Park stadium was reopened over the weekend after a two-month-long shutdown with a brand new turf field.
"It's a lot nicer, it looks great," Red Bank Recreation Director Louis "Del" Dal Pra said.
According to Dal Pra turfs need to be changed every 10 years and the 11-year-old field at Count Basie was in need of an overhaul. The township passed a bond ordinance earlier this year for the project.

The repair was supposed to be done between July 1 and Aug. 1 but was delayed due to a worker shortage with the Georgia-based company in charge of it.
"The problem with doing it during the pandemic was that there were issues with labor," Dal Pra said.

The old turf was ripped out on Aug. 6 and had to sit there for four weeks before work started.
The tracks around the field also had to be closed, as this was considered a construction site. They have reopened now.
The Youth Football league got to test out the new grounds for the first time with a game on unday. On Friday, it will be the Red Bank Catholic Caseys' turn at the new field.
