Theater Grant Aids Seniors and the Disabled

Two River Theater recently earned a $10,000 grant from the Horizon Foundation.

A recently awarded grant will help provide seniors and the disabled with better access to community theater.

The Two River Theater Company recently received a grant of $10,000 from the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey for its Theater Access for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program. According to a release, the grant not only supports theater access programs for Monmouth and Ocean County residents, but also helps defray the cost of theater aids, like large-print playbills, sign interpretation, open captioning, wheelchair accessibility, and transportation, among others.

In all, the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey announced 2012 grant awards of $2,171,000 to 19 different organizations throughout the state. According to a release, the Horizon Foundation supports charitable organizations that promote health and the arts throughout New Jersey.
