World Changers Lends a Hand to HABcore

Teens help repaint a Red Bank deck and a porch as part of a summer outreach program.

HABcore recently got a helping hand from World Changers, a religious volunteer program that helps revitalize substandard homes throughout the country. Recently a group of students helped paint the porches and back deck of one of HABcore's homes on River Street in Red Bank.

HABcore, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving Monmouth and Ocean counties that provides housing for the homeless, said the home is currently occupied by three men and a single mother and her two daughters.

Each summer, World Changers provides Christian youth and adults opportunities to strengthen their faith through practical learning experiences, according to a release. This year, 334 students from 15 churches are working on housing projects throughout Monmouth County while staying at Neptune High School.

"It’s quite remarkable seeing these young people spending their summer vacations working to help those less fortunate,” Steve Heisman, executive director of HABcore said in a release. "The support received from World Changers will further our mission to provide stability, dignity, and hope to the homeless."
