$1,300 In Lottery Tickets Stolen From Glen Rock Store: Police
The man distracted the cashier and left behind an envelope at the store that had only paper in it, and no cash.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — A man stole nearly $1,300 in lottery tickets from Rock Ridge Pharmacy Friday, police said.
A heavy-set white man in his 30s went up to the counter at about 1 p.m. with an envelope that looked like it contained money. He stated he was "playing the big lottery" and needed to make a large purchase, said Chief Dean Ackermann.
The man was "very talkative" and distracted the cashier during the transaction, Ackermann said.

The cashier became suspicious when the man quickly left with $985 in lottery tickets and left behind another $309 in tickets, which were rung up on the lottery machine and were a loss to the store, the chief said.
The man also left the envelope behind, which just had paper inside, he said.

The man left the store in a silver, two-door car. it was last seen on Glen Avenue heading toward Maple Avenue, Ackermann said.
Glen Rock Police detectives are reviewing surveillance video images from the store to try to identify the man.
