Fake Bergen Doc Damaged Woman's Face With Laser: Prosecutor
Young Hwan Choi, 72, a barber shop owner, performed a laser treatment on a woman's face, scarring her, authorities said.

A Bergen County barber shop owner was arrested and charged after he performed a laser treatment on a woman, injuring and scarring her face, authorities announced.
Young Hwan Choi, 72, was charged with aggravated assault and unlicensed practice of medicine and surgery, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.
Palisades Park police received a report earlier this month from a woman alleging that Choi performed a laser treatment on her face in November 2017, Calo said. The surgery caused "significant bodily injury, including scars" on the woman's face and chin, Calo said.

Police and the prosecutor's office Financial Crimes Unit investigated and determined that Choi is not a doctor and is not licensed to practice medicine or surgery, Calo said.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone who was injured by Choi should contact the Palisades Park Police Department.
