Same Man Found On Side Of Road Twice In One Week In Glen Rock: Police
Police got two reports last week of a person lying by the side of the road in Glen Rock. It was the same man.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — The Glen Rock police received three reports of men lying on the ground on three separate days last week, police said. In two of the cases, it was the same man.
On Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 10:22 p.m., police responded to a "concerned citizen" who reported that a man was lying next to a street on the side of the road on Doremus Avenue, near Faber Field.
Police found a 37-year-old Hawthorne man "in a highly intoxicated state and unable to care for himself."

Police contacted a friend who came and "agreed to provide care for him. The subject was safely assisted into his friend’s vehicle. No further assistance was requested."
Two days later, on Aug. 15, police and an ambulance were dispatched to the 500 block of Doremus Avenue at 12:04 a.m. A person was found by the side of the road "in a highly intoxicated state." It was the same man.

He was examined on scene by EMTs and declined medical care.
"Officers spent an extended period attempting to determine where the subject lived, with the assistance of officers from the Hawthorne Police Department. Subsequently he was transported to his home and left in the care of family members," police said.
The next day, at 8:05 p.m., police headed to the area of the New Jersey Transit Main Line Train Station to investigate a commuter’s report of a man laying on the side of the railroad tracks.
Police found a 41-year-old Fair Lawn man who "was in an intoxicated state."
The man said he'd fallen asleep on the train and got off at the wrong stop. He refused medical aid.
A "sober adult friend" responded to pick him up and agreed to take him home, police said.
