Glen Rock Football Ranked No. 15 Entering Season

Team must replace 18 seniors from a team that made it to the conference championship game.

Coming off an excellent season in which the Panthers made the state championship game, expectations in 2012-2013 remain high.

The Panthers will be marked by opponents when the season starts. The Record has ranked the squad, which was 8-4 last year, as the No. 15 team in North Jersey

Despite losing 18 players due to graduation – including star wideout Freddie Pulzello, quarterback Tim Miller, defensive end Brendan Dowling, linebacker Joon Kee Bae, kicker Diamo Streaser, and wideout Matt Aportela – the team has a good deal of talent returning.

Running back/wideout Pat Sheahan, running back David Sasek and quarterback Mike O'Neill will be looking to get the high octane offense going. Junior linebacker Jeff Kopyta will anchor a defense with a tough senior defensive line in front.

The season starts on Sept. 7 against Hasbrouck Heights. The Panthers will also face Pompton Lakes (the team to beat Glen Rock for the North 1 Group 1 final), Rutherford and rival Hawthorne. Because of , Glen Rock will have to play on the road this year.
