Glen Rock High School Ranked Fourth Best in New Jersey
The school moves from #28 to #4 in New Jersey Monthly's biennial ranking of the best high schools in the state.

'Rockers can now proudly say they have a bonafide top-five high school after shot up the New Jersey Monthly Magazine's rankings of the state's public high schools.
GRHS jumped from 28th place in 2010 to 4th place in 2012 on the just-released biennial ranking of 328 public high schools in the state, among the biggest increases on the list.
“We are very pleased to be recognized as one of the top schools in New Jersey and honored to be in such fine company,” said second-year principal John Arlotta. “We are very proud of our school and its wonderful teachers and students. This is a cumulative recognition resulting in the efforts of many, past and present.”
Glen Rock High School was also ranked #28 in 2008.
NJ Monthly Magazine’s 2012 rankings of the top public high schools will be featured in the September issue, which hits newsstands on Aug. 28.

The magazine notes that the average class size at Glen Rock High School is now 18.4 and that the combined average SAT score is 1696. That's better than the numbers published in 2010, when the magazine noted an average class size of 25 and an average SAT score of 1682.
The student-faculty ratio at Glen Rock High School was down slightly from 10.8 in 2010 to 10.0 in 2012.

An incredible 99.6 percent of students will be attending college this fall, second best in the state. Over 81 percent of students scored a 3 or better on AP exams, according to the data.
NJ Monthly Magazine made changes to its methodology this year, including a new graduation-rate calculation, eliminating student/computer ratio as a factor and increasing the weighting for data on test results, according to an article announcing the top public high schools.
