Baby Fashion Coming to Ridgewood

The Baby Couture moving into 82 E. Ridgewood Ave. Sept. 1.

When Marissa Rizkalla had her first child in 2008, it wasn't easy finding a one-stop-shop for custom clothing and accessories.

With the help of her mom, Florence, Rizkalla is taking her online retail operation and moving to the village, poised to bring a bricks-and-mortar store to fill the baby chic gap.

The family has been renting out an office on Wilsey Square but will be moving The Couture Baby to 82 E. Ridgewood Ave. on Sept. 1, Rizkalla said.

"I partnered up with my mom who has always known had to sew and had an
extensive background in retail, and me with my flair for fashion sense.
The Couture Baby was born," she told Patch.

The Courture Baby has clothing for girls and boys, accessories for both, but also carries bibs, gift baskets, bedding, and more. Pretty much everything is customizable.

The Rizkallas have fashioned children around the globe, and according to Marissa, have fielded requests to open a store in the area.

The village was a natural place to do just that, Rizkalla, a Wyckoff resident, said.

"I have two toddlers and always take them to Ridgewood whether it's for dinner, cupcakes or ice cream and love walking with them down East Ridgewood Ave," she said. "What better place for my store?"
