Local Songwriter Andrew Nieporent Releasing New Album
CD release show for Butterfly on Aug. 25 at The Ridgewood Elks Club.

will be gathering with local musicians and friends for the release show of his new full length album Butterfly on Sat. Aug. 25 at The Elks Club.
Darrin Bradbury, New Holland, Noise Rider and The Jay Everett Band will play a few short sets before Nieportent, a singer-songwriter, takes the stage with his full band (Adam Biener, Jay Everett, Tom Ng and Dan Scarpa).
The release of Butterfly is an exciting development for Nieporent, a recent Ramapo College grad.
"This album is just coming out but it's the product of three years of hard work," he said in an interview last week.

Since his previous record's release, Nieporent has taken time off from music to find spirituality and meditation while also promoting other artists as the MC for the Open Mic Night at Ridgewood Coffee Company.
The 11-track album is polished, arranged and mastered, Nieporent said. Butterfly is more of a singer/songwriter album than a pop performance, he added.

"I have a more free and open-minded approach to what each song could be while still searching for the ideal arrangement," he said. "I'm more rhtymically focused."
You might even pick up on some local references, not quite a leap considering he's been called "The Mayor of East Ridgewood Avenue."
"Ridgewood is all over the album," Nieporent said.
The Saturday show starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. Butterfly will be available on Nieporent's Bandcamp page, as will an unreleased EP, Vast in Blue.
