Barricaded Man In Bergen Home In Police Custody: Report
Authorities shot canisters of gas into the house Monday afternoon, according to a report.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man who barricaded himself inside a Cliffside Park home is in police custody, NorthJersey.com reported.
The man threatened to harm himself or police after an injured person came out of the Harvard Place home, according to a NorthJersey.com report. SWAT officers fired four canisters of gas into the house after the man ignored their requests to speak with them, according to the report.
He was taken into custody at 5:50 p.m., NorthJersey.com reported.

The man's wife was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a bruise on her head, Cliffside Park Police Chief Richard Gaito told Daily Voice.
Authorities did not know if the man had any weapons in the home, Daily Voice reported. Hostage negotiators and police officers are at the scene.

Borough officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
