Bergen County Man Charged With Sex Crime After Groping Woman In Glen Rock Store: Cops

A Fair Lawn man has been charged with a sex crime after allegedly groping a woman at a farmer's market store in Bergen County, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —A 26-year-old Fair Lawn man has been charged with criminal sexual contact after he groped a woman who was shopping in a store in Glen Rock, police said.

The woman was shopping at Rock Farmer's Market in Glen Rock on the night of Saturday, Aug. 17, when a strange man began following her, said Glen Rock police.

According to police, the 46-year-old woman, from North Haledon, told them that "a male subject followed her closely in the store and then rubbed his hand across her thigh and buttock, intentionally. She did not know who the man was, and he subsequently fled the store."

Sgt. Robert Wojtecki got video images from the store, which helped detectives identify the man, police said.

He was arrested, processed at Glen Rock police headquarters, and released on his own recognizance, said police, in accordance with bail reform requirements.

He is awaiting an appearance AT Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack, police said.
