Ridgewood Falls in NJ Monthly High School Rankings
School checks in as the 28th best on NJ Monthly Magazine's list of 328 high schools in the state.

Ridgewood High School fell eight spots in the latest NJ Monthly Magazine rankings of the state's ranking of high schools.
RHS checked in as the state's 20th best school in 2010 and two years later finds itself at #28 on the just-released biennial ranking of 328 public high schools in the state. In 2008, the school ranked #7 in the state on the list.
NJ Monthly Magazine’s 2012 rankings of the top public high schools will be featured in the September issue, which hits newsstands on Aug. 28. Paroachial schools are not included, though charter schools make the list.

Among schools within its district factor group, Ridgewood High School ranked 7th in the state. It trailed Bergen County schools Tenafly (3), , Park Ridge (14), Ramapo (17), Pascack Hills (19), and Northern Highlands (22).
The magazine notes that the average class size at Ridgewood High School is now 21.0 and that the combined average SAT score is 1777. In 2010, the average class size was 24.4 and the average SAT score 1797.

The average SAT score in 2012 still ranks Ridgewood High School among the top ten in the state. The academics are certainly rigorous – there are 27 AP class offerings and 78.5 of tests graded a 3 or better.
The student-faculty ratio at Ridgewood High School was down slightly from 12.0 in 2010 to 11.8 in 2012.
More than 97 percent of students will be attending college this fall, in line with similar schools.
NJ Monthly Magazine made changes to its methodology this year, including a new graduation-rate calculation, eliminating student/computer ratio as a factor and increasing the weighting for data on test results, according to an article announcing the top public high schools.
