“The Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony is the cornerstone event of this year’s Homecoming Weekend,” said Ridgewood High School Principal Jeff Nyhuis. “These four inductees join a growing list of outstanding former RHS students who have created a long lasting impact on society and who bridge the gap between the past and the future.”

The DA awards will be presented Saturday morning, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. in the Little Theater of Ridgewood High School.

A photo opportunity will follow, featuring inductees unveiling their new plaques by the old main entrance to RHS.

Registered guests are invited to join the RHSAA for breakfast before the ceremony at 9 a.m. outside the Little Theater.

Distinguished Alumni Ceremony tickets are $20 and can be purchased through the RHSAA website: https://www.rhsalumniassociati...

Current RHS students with ID are welcome to attend free of charge and able to join once ticketed guests are seated.

“This special event celebrates the remarkable achievements and enduring legacy of our RHS alumni, while also inspiring current and future RHS students to pursue excellence in their endeavors,” said RHSAA President Mark Kossick.

The RHS Homecoming weekend begins with a Friday night lights football game vs. Piscataway at 6:30PM at RHS Stadium. Merchandise and food will be available for sale at the game.

Friday’s kickoff is followed by the DA Awards ceremony on Saturday morning, then RHS campus tours led by student ambassadors beginning at 11 a.m.

Saturday night is the big night for class reunions. “RHS classes 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989 and 2004 are all getting together this special annual weekend," Kossack said. "With a schedule like this, it’s no wonder why so many RHS alumni circle Homecoming Weekend on the calendar."
