Thanksgiving Day Water Main Break Led to Boil Water Alert For Fourteen Homeowners
Alert lifted Friday night and localized to fourteen homes on Upper Boulevard, Director of Ridgewood Water Frank Moritz said

A water main break on Thanksgiving day forced fourteen homeowners on Upper Boulevard in Ridgewood to boil water, according to Director of Ridgewood Water Frank Moritz.
Moritz said in a telephone interview Monday that the main break only impacted the homeowners on Upper Boulevard and the overall system was not compromised. The alert – only dispatched to the homeowners on Upper Boulevard – was lifted Friday night after ecological tests came back, he said.
Residents were still able to shower and use water but had to boil for cooking and drinking, Moritz said.
