Week in Review: Council Says 'No' To Valley Expansion; Pedestrian Killed Crossing Rt. 17

The Ridgewood Village Council rendered its decision in what became a really bad day for Valley Hospital officials – after hearing Pascack Valley is a go to reopen, the expansion.

Council members cited a variety of concerns – from scale, to infrastructure damage, to detriment to neighboring properties, and uneasiness given the proximity to a middle school – in denying the . The council will officially vote on Tuesday at Ridgewood High School.

*A 75-year-old woman was Saturday night. The victim, a resident of Union, NJ, was pronounced dead at the scene. It's unclear why she did not use the pedestrian footbridge a few hundred feet away to cross southbound, according to police.
