Can You Dig It as Local Volleyball Players Claim Second Place

North Jersey high school volleyball athletes competed and swept their way through a volleyball tournament

Over Martin Luther King weekend, The DIGS 16 Red Club Volleyball team, comprised of local North Jersey high school girls, attended the Mizuno New England Winterfest Tournament in Hartford, Conn.

With 176 teams participating from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York and New Jersey, the DIGS 16 Red team played-up in the 17’s bracket which consisted of 40 teams.

They not only made it into the Gold Bracket at the 17’s level but won their way into the overall Championship game eventually placing second in this major Northeast Volleyball tournament.

Competing for the Digs Red Team were Chantal Ramhorst (Pascack Hills), Kalette deMarrais (), Lilly Scanzillo (Northern Highlands), Zoe Edelman (Leonia), Alicia Hines (), and Amy DeVoe (), Erin Gloor (), Capt. Alex Garrett (Northern Highlands), Kim Morgan (Old Tappan), Capt. Emily Guzman (Clifton), Larysa Iwaskiw (), Emily Kolodka (Academy of the Holy Angels), and Mallary McFadden (Albertus Magnus High School). The team is led by head coach Warren Tom.
