Weekly Review: Crusaders Earn Top Wrestlers in the State Bragging Rights

A review of the top River Dell stories for the week

While the Bergen Catholic wrestlers took top honors in the state by decimating St. Peter's Prep and Christian Brothers Academy for back-to-back titles: North Non-Public A sectional title and Non-Public A Group title. The wins were secured by Johnny Sebastian (sectional) and Harrison Utter (group). At the same time, the basketball team's inconsistency doomed them in the Bergen County Jamboree  and a shot at advancing over the Tenafly Tigers.

An online petition started by River Edge Mayor Sandy Moscaritolo for an off-leash dog park  in Van Saun County Park has been gaining quite a lot of steam with 106 signatures already. The petition will be sent to the Bergen County Board of Freeholders in the future.

The River Dell High School Hypnotic Robitics finished in 13th place at the first FIRST Tech Challenge state robotics championship this past week.

Oradell resident James Sattely, was promoted to County Counsel recently. He succeeds ucceeds Jeffrey Ziegleheim who resigned on Feb. 10. Sattely is a Major in the United States Army Reserve and Judge Advocate General Corps and also sits on the Board of Directors of Bergen Catholic High School.

Despite an impassioned plea by Habitat for Humanity for the Oradell Council to reconsider its previous decision on denying the organizations request for a , the governing body's January decision was once again upheld.
