Learn How to Get Recruited for College Baseball

Oradell organizations team up for weekend lecture on college recruiting for high school baseball players

The and Oradell-Emerson Rotary Club have teamed up with the owners of Fastball University and Batters up Long Island for a weekend lecture on how high school baseball athletes and their parents can take steps towards college recruitment.

The lecture, The Parents Trap, Myths and Facts of College Recruiting, will focus on recruitment to DI, DII and DIII colleges and be held on Sunday, January 29, from 1-2:30pm at the Blauvelt Mansion, 799 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell.

The program will discuss the realities of College Baseball and subsequent recruiting, how to become both mentally and physically prepared, values to assist both the player and the parents to make the right decision, and steps to appropriately market the player, where and how to be seen.

Leading the lecture will be Sivio Censale, owner of Fastball University, whose career began as a four-year starter from Paramus Catholic where he garnered All-State honors, pre-season High School All American, Top 100 prospect from Baseball America. While drafted by the Minnesota Twins right after high school, he instead attended the University of Miami with a full scholarship. Censale later played in the 1992 Olympics on the Puerto Rico National Team, was drafted in the 10th round by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1992 and then played on the Olympic Italian National Team 2004. 

Through his experience and research from ASMI, Censale specializes in preventing chronic and reoccurring arm injuries and has assisted in securing over $14 million scholarship dollars, 10 students have been drafted and 35 students have professional experience.

Joining Censale will be Frank Bodner, owner of Batters Up Long Island and LA Dodgers Scout. Bodner specializes in college recruiting, from fundamental through advanced technique and optimizing performances that attracts college scouts.

Through his experience, Frank has been associated with the Arizona diamondback, Seattle Mariners and most recently the LA Dodgers.  His programs are individualized to meet the specific players demands and identified needs including, but not limited to, bat speed and speed and agility.
