Welcome to the "Week in Review," a weekly column that highlights the top stories that took place in RiverDell including the swearing in of new officers at the .

On Saturday before a standing room only crowd at ,  along with fellow Line Officers Assistant Chief Gregg Cariddi, Deputy Chief Eric Schultz, Captains Jim Rush and William MacRae, First Lieutenant's Leonard Coyman and Keith Mahoney and Second Lieutenant's Alex Breuss and Timothy Faranda.

During meeting, Rotarian Mark Dance presented Interact Club Co-President Chris Bascomb with a check for $1,144 as part of a share of net proceeds from the October dinner.

Over the next few weeks, the  (OPS) PTA is sponsoring three timely and exciting after-school science workshops for students from Kindergarten through sixth grade. Created by the committee, led by Mary Lang and Chris Schwake, each of the workshops is geared to give students hands-on, real-life experiences with science in a fun, after-school setting. 

In the start of a new year, the looked to move forward with how to better handle parking along the business district on Kinderkamack Road as well as the future construction of a Habitat for Humanity project.

This spring The Friends of River Dell (FORD) and the  selected seven alumni as -  Honorable Patricia Broderick '67, Dr. Elizabeth Vierling '71, Robert Harrison '72, Dr. Jane Levine Powers '73. US Attorney Paul Fishman '74, Master Gunnery Sergeant Peter Proetto '79, and Joe DiPietro '80.

 Loren Gelberg-Goff, LCSW and Carmel-Ann Mania, DC, founders and partners in Being Well Within, recently held a book launch party and book signing of their first published work at Blooming Hearts Treasure Shop in Westwood.

Giving back is Creighton Drury's coin of the realm — in as big a way as possible to those who need it most. The former River Dell basketball standout and Rutgers starter is the president of the Paterson-based New Jersey Community Development Corporation.

The national spotlight could be shining brighter on Don Bosco and come September after the teams received tentative approval to schedule as many as five out-of-state football games in 2012 and 2013.
