Weekly Review: Waterworks Loses County Grant Funding

The stabilization of the Hackensack Waterworks smokestacks was supposed to begin months ago following the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund Committee's recommendation to out of $6.9 million to be set aside for the work. This fall though, the Bergen County Freeholders chose to reallocate that funding to a project in Saddle River instead. The Freeholders will make their final decision on March 21.
