A round-up of useful information and events happening around Rumson and Fair Haven today.

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:
1. The Sun Will Come Out... Today! According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with highs in the 60's. The sun peeking through the clouds will be a nice break from the rain we have been running from everytime we leave our cars. Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows in the 40's.
2. Stand Outs at RFH: At Tuesday’s Board of Education Meeting, Dr. Suzanne Fico, Student Assistance Counselor, and Christopher Champeau, Basketball Coach, were recognized for their outstanding service to Rumson Fair Haven Region High School’s students. Fico received the Educator of the Year award while Champeau was honored as the Basketball Coach of the Year. Click to learn more about these fabulous RFH community members.

3. Learning from the Big Dawgs: When Marissa Stefanelli, a softball players from Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School, saw that the Fair Haven Recreation softball program was in need of some added expertise and enthusiasm, she was happy to help. In response to that need, she put together a clinic for the young players. She developed the program, lined up equipment, created fliers, emails and publicity in connection with Fair Haven Girls’ Softball, Inc. and co-ordinated a series of clinics for third through eighth graders. 4. Spring into Fitness: Head over to Fair Haven Fields this morning to enjoy . OutdoorFit will be there from 9-10:15 offering classes, which consist of a combination of resistance training and cardio exercise. They are designed by trainers Mary Kiningham and Christa Lippert in a way that intermittently increases the heart rate. Weights are used in combination with full body exercises like, push ups, squats and burpees. Trainers can modify the classes where necessary and use different variations of the exercises to appropriately challenge those at all fitness levels. The class costs $16. Can't make the class? 5. Love to Draw: Do you have notebooks full of sketches? Want to improve your drawing skills? Head over to Borough Hall in Rumson from 1-3:00 p.m. today to enjoy a drawing class with Mary Connell Gaynor. The class is open to artists of all levels. The classes run every Thursday until May 12 and costs $60. These classes are a part of the 2011 Evenings with Rumson Residents program sponsored by the borough recreation department..
