5 Things You Need to Know Today: August 4

1. Sunny Skies: According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with a high near 82 degrees. There will be an east wind around 10 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 66 degrees. There will be a southeast wind between 5 and 7 mph. 

2. Storms Brewing: Tropical Storm Emily is currently beating a path across the Caribbean, and while forecasters warn that the storm could track her way up the country's southern Atlantic coast over the weekend, meteorologists here say Emily will likely bring nothing more than big surf to the Jersey Shore. 3. Search for a Superintendent: The Rumson School District has hired an interim superintendent until a permanent one is found to replace former Superintendent Scott Feder, whose last day was July 31.  Bert Ammerman has been named Interim Superintendent. According to Board of Education President Colleen O’Connor, Ammerman worked a few days a week for the last two weeks with Feder before his departure. 4.
