5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 26

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. A Beautiful Day: According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 85 degrees. There will be a north wind between 5 and 9 mph. Tonight will be a nice cooler night with partly cloudy skies and a low around 70 degrees. There will be a west wind around 8 mph. 

2. Homecoming of a Marine: Emotions ran high as hundreds of people stood along Blackpoint Rd. waiting for Lance Corporal Sean MacDonald to return home from his 7 month tour in Afghanistan. The heat did not stop his supporters from filling the streets for his arrival, even after his flight was delayed over an hour and temperatures were still in the 90’s into the evening. 3. Family Fun Night: Miss Sherri and the Little Animal Band brought Rumson's to life Sunday night as they rocked out for the local children. The songs the band performed at Sunday's Family Fun Night got all the kids on their feet. Ehrlich and her co-signer Claudine (the giraffette) threw props out to the kids to get them involved in the music. Some kids were invited up on stage to dance and sing. 4. Movies on the Beach: Now through the end of August, the Sea Bright Business Alliance is offering free outdoor movies on the beach every Tuesday night. Families from local communities come armed with blankets and chairs to enjoy a free family movie on Sea Bright Beach. Movies start between 8:00-8:30p.m. Tonight's featured film is Megamind.
