A Fair Back-to-School Experience
Knollwood Principal Kevin Davis and Superintendent Nelson Ribon worked at the fair Monday night.
They said they'd be there and they were.
Fair Haven Schools Superintendent Nelson Ribon and new Knollwood School Principal Kevin Davis had their first experience working at the Fair Haven Firemen's Fair and meeting and greeting some students and parents while they were at it at the Shuffle Board Booth.
Word has it this was Davis' first time at the fair at all, much less in a volunteer capacity. And Ribon has been before, as it's an unofficial inauguration and hiring prerequisite.
When going through the superintendent hiring process, in a meeting the consultant chosen to help find the perfect candidate said it was not a must to live in Fair Haven, but most parents wanted to know that the top administrator was steeped enough in the community to act like a Fair Havenite.
Part of that is, yes, understanding the tradition that is the fair, consultant Richard Morasco had mentioned at a forum on the search. Well, Ribon and Davis jumped in and behaved like the natives, and, from all accounts, enjoyed themselves.
Take a look at the photos above and stay tuned for more from the two on their experience. And, who will show up next? We plan on trying to catch a few more schools people in fair mode.
Thanks to Katy Badt Frissora and Ribon for providing the photos.
