A Rumson Artist Remembers the World Trade Center
A local artist is inspired to create a tribute to the twin towers after losing them in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Jim Lembeck is a professional fine art photographer born and raised in Rumson, NJ who was deeply impacted by the 9/11 attacks and inspired to create a memorial to what was lost that day.
He describes his art as a culmination of a lifetime of working in communications and media. “My purpose driven works are intended to provoke thought, understanding, appreciation, self-awareness and action,” says Lembeck.
After 9/11, Lebeck was inspired to create a piece of art that would commemorate the towers as he saw them his whole life growing up with a view of the skyline.

“Growing up in Rumson and watching the towers being built from the Sea Bright and Highlands bridges firmly placed the buildings in my life. Working in NY for many years, and in Tower 1 for a while, made them even more special,” said Lembeck.
His approach to a tribute was different than some other artists after the attacks. “Rather than focus on the horror of 9/11, I took the approach to not show images of broken towers in my tribute. The video is made from a collection of images I took of the towers over the years,” he said. “Still Standing is a proud look at the World Trade Center, our World Trade Center, not what the terrorists left us with.
