Family Children's Services Looking for Volunteer Readers

Family Children’s Services is looking for volunteers for its school-based Reading Buddies program, which pairs older readers with beginner readers in a classroom setting.

The program is administered through FCS’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and serves 18 public elementary schools in underserved communities throughout Monmouth County, including Red Bank. The program seeks to enrich the learning experience of more than 1,600 students from kindergarten through second grade.

According to a release, Reading Buddy volunteers commit at least one hour each week during the school year to read with young students in small group settings in the classroom.
