Back to School in Fair Haven with Twitter, New Important Dates
Check out the district's new Twitter account and make sure you have the right important dates noted.

Students in Fair Haven went back to school Monday morning for a single-session day followed by another tomorrow.
But there are a couple of other new things that awaited students and parents, such as switched calendar dates and heightened communication via social media.
In a move that's meant to keep district happenings at the fingertips of parents, students and staff, the district now has a Twitter account, you may have noticed. If not, here's the information: @FHPublicSchools is the account, where, right now, most all the posts are coming from InTheLoop@FHSchools.
Those messages are coming from Superintendent Nelson Ribon, who announced the use of a Twitter account at a Board of Education meeting over the summer.
Ribon had said he felt it would be a good way to keep people informed with up-to-the-minute quick tidbits. He foresees a lot of involvement on the account.
Speaking of meetings, the board meeting, as you may have noticed, for the end of August was rescheduled because of the Fair Haven Firemen's Fair. It is now scheduled for Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. in the media room at Knollwood, as usual.
Things may have been shuffled around since, so here's a list, from the district website, of some important dates to start the year.
• Monday, Sept. 9 ~ Schools open, single session
• Tuesday, Sept. 10 ~ Single session
• Tuesday, Sept. 17 ~ Sickles Open House
• Wednesday, Sept. 18 ~ Board of Ed Meeting 7 p.m.
