FAIR HAVEN, NJ — The annual Fair Haven Firemen's Fair continues the rest of the week, with discounted rides on Wednesday. Wednesday is also firefighter/first responder night.

So far, Hurricane Idalia, expected to make landfall Wednesday morning along the Gulf Coast in Florida, is not expected to affect weather in New Jersey for events such as the fair.

"As of now, it does not appear that weather during the fair will be affected from the hurricane. We will be paying close attention to it, however," said Fire Chief Richard A. Brister Jr.

The fair, a tradition since 1906 in the borough, is the annual fund drive for Fair Haven Fire Company No. 1, and is the largest firemen's fair in New Jersey.

There is a 50-50 Drawing on Sept. 2 at 10:45 p.m. Last year’s winner took home more than $16,000, the department says.

There will also be hourly 50-50 drawings and First Aid Squad and Auxiliary Prize raffles.
