Fair Haven Firemen's Fair Re-Opens Monday Night

Attendees can expect the fair to be in full service offering food, games, rides and fun, which is much needed after Hurricane Irene.

The will re-open Monday night after canceling the events for Saturday and completely disassembling the rides and grounds in preparation for .

“We are open!” said Wade Davis, the fire chief of the . Davis said that all the rides stayed safe during the storm and there was no damage to the fair grounds.

Volunteers and ride vendors spent most of the day Monday preparing food and getting the grounds at the Fair Haven Fire Department ready for the re-opening.

“We had to take the golf course down and the dining room apart so that all needed to be put back together. All the power that was taken out of the rides to prepare for the heavy rain was put back and everything was reassembled,” said John Feeney, chairperson for the Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair.

After much hard work, Feeney said, “Everything is status quo. The fair will be open by six.”

Families and friends can head down to the fair to enjoy everything they usually have to offer from food, games and rides. “Everything is going to be open at full capacity,” said Feeney.

With a beautiful weather week ahead for Fair Haven, the fair will be open every night until September 3 from 6:00-11:00 p.m.
