Fair Haven Police Report: Burglaries, Auto Theft, Hit-and-Run and DWI

The following information was obtained directly from Fair Haven Police Department records. It does not indicate convictions.

Fair Haven police reported the following incidents and arrests in March:

• Sgt. Sherri Lambert and Patrolman Koetzner arrested two juveniles on March 9 who were allegedly found to be intoxicated, one of whom was also trespassing at a Harvard Road residence.

•  Patrolmen Patton and Hostrup took a report of an alleged burglary that occurred on March 10 at a Schwenker’s Place residence.

Detective Stephen Schneider also responded and is continuing the investigation. It has been determined that nothing has been taken at this time. All items thought missing have been located at the residence.

• Special Officer Murray took a report of an alleged theft on March 11 from a Lake Avenue resident. The victim stated that someone on Feb. 5 stole a package that was delivered by UPS from his property.

• Patrolman Dwayne Reevey took a report of an alleged burglary from a Ridge Road business on March 14. It was reported on this date that entry was gained and nothing taken.

However, two weeks prior there was a similar incident reported and allegedly $200 went missing.

• Sgt. Dykstra and Cpl. Waltz arrested Tykim M. Matheo, 20, of Sayreville on March 16 and charged him with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.  Sheriff’s Officer Aretino and K-9 Ari also responded and assisted.

Matheo was released pending court.

• Patrolman William Lagrotteria and Special Officer Murray took a report on March 16 of an alleged burglary and auto theft to a Poplar Ave residence.  Along with jewelry, a 2006 Honda Civic was also reported stolen.  

Detective Stephen Schneider responded and is continuing the investigation. 

• Patrolman William Lagrotteria and Special Officer Murray took a report on March 16 of an alleged burglary at a Hance Road residence. 

Detective Stephen Schneider responded and is continuing the investigation.

• Patrolman William Lagrotteria took a report for a hit-and-run accident on March 25 and subsequently arrested Katie E. Cornelisse, 32, of Fair Haven, and charged her driving while intoxicated.   

Cornelisse was released pending a court date.
