Fair Haven Resident Faces Rx Charges

Criminal complaint says Jacqueline LoPresti, a doctor with a practice in Little Silver, didn't require patients to fill out paperwork and accepted payments in cash.

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that Jacqueline LoPresti, a licensed Little Silver osteopathy doctor and Fair Haven resident, is scheduled to appear before a federal court Wednesday as a defendant named in an illegal drug trafficking network.

LoPresti and New York doctor Hassan Lahham have been charged with illegally writing over 6,000 prescriptions for over 500,000 oxycodone tablets between Jan. 2009 and Dec. 2010.

Patients were not required to fill out paperwork at LoPresti's office, and payments were accepted in cash, according to the criminal complaint. LoPresti also allegedly delivered prescriptions to a codefendant at a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway.
