Halloween Curfew Set For Rumson
See what times and dates you can expect a curfew to be in place.
RUMSON, NJ — Rumson residents should be aware of a Halloween curfew that will begin for children and teens on Wednesday night.
Anyone under 18 years old and not accompanied by an adult, or at a public function, cannot be out past 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Rumson Police said.
On Halloween, the curfew will begin at 8 p.m.

Police are encouraging residents to keep the following safety tips in mind as they approach the upcoming holiday:
- Make sure kids wear bright or reflective tape on costumes, or carry a flashlight or light sticks (Rumson Police officers will hand out light sticks as they patrol).
- Tell kids to look both ways before crossing and try to do it only at corners or crosswalks.
- Have a parent or responsible adult with younger children at all times.
- If you are driving be sure to drive EXTRA slow and monitor leaf piles and other areas where kids may be.
- Ask children not to eat any treats before they are inspected by an adult!
Rumson Police will be out with extra patrols on Mischief Night and Halloween.
