Help The Rumson Police Chief Raise Donations For Polar Plunge

The Seaside Heights Polar Plunge raises funds for Special Olympics New Jersey

RUMSON, NJ - Police Chief Scott Paterson needs your help.

He wants to raise as much money as possible for his icy dip in the 2018 Polar Plunge in Seaside Heights on Feb. 24.

"Hello, please help me raise money for the 2018 Special Olympic Polar Bear Plunge in Seaside NJ this February!" Paterson wrote on the borough website. "This is the 25th Anniversary and I am proud and honored to be involved!"

The bone-chilling event helps support more than 25,000 Special Olympics New Jersey athletes by giving them free sports training and competition during the year.

The event gets underway at 1 p.m. on the beach in front of Spicy Cantina's and will end at 3 p.m.
