Meetings, Oysters & Psychic Ahead

Happy Monday to you friends and fans!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and took advantage of the nice fall — yes, fall — weather. We got lucky and it only rained Saturday night, so there were a couple of nice days in which to get some yard work done and take advantage of the weather.

Who went to the Guinness Oyster Festival in Red Bank? We have pictures. Can you find yourself in them? A good time was had by all; and the sun was shining.

Looks like it'll be shining all week, too, with temperatures reaching a high of about 70 degrees. Ah, it's fall, but I'm thinking it's still the right time to beach it.

As for what's going on this week …

• There's a Borough Council meeting in Fair Haven tonight at 7 p.m. at Borough Hall on River Road.

Looks like the highlight is going to be the public hearing on the ordinance for a smoking ban in public parks. There's some difference of opinion on the matter among council members. Enough to prompt the mayor to tell the public to "bring popcorn" for the hearing.

• Red Bank's Dog Days of Summer is Tuesday.

• Get your harvest bounty over to Lunch Break by Tuesday.

• Psychic Sylvia Browne is at the Count Basie Theatre on Tuesday.

• The Rumson Board of Ed is meeting on Wednesday at the Higgins Library at Forrestdale School.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it, so let us (all five personalities) know what we've missed.
