Movie By Rumson Actor To Debut At Smith's SModCastle Film Fest

RUMSON, NJ — Kevin Smith's first annual SModCastle Film Festival is coming later this month to Atlantic Highlands, and a Rumson actor's film is set to be featured on opening night.

Siobhan Fallon Hogan announced her latest film, "Shelter in Solitude," will have its world premiere opening night at Kevin Smith’s inaugural SModCastle Film Festival on Nov. 30.

"Shelter in Solitude" is directed by Vibeke Muasya and stars Robert Patrick ("Terminator 2: Judgement Day," "Yellowstone"); Peter Macon ("Orville"); Dan Castellaneta ("The Simpsons") and Fallon Hogan.

"Shelter in Solitude" is the story of a death-row prisoner with 10 days left to live and his relationship with a wannabe country singer, according to a news release about the event.

Rumson’s Kyle Ward composed the score and two of Fallon Hogan’s children, Peter Hogan, Jr. and Sinead, have supporting roles.

“We are thrilled to showcase Siobhan Fallon Hogan’s world premiere of "Shelter in Solitude" on opening night! Having an 'SNL' vet at the first annual SModCastle Film Festival is huge for this long-time fan,” said Smith.

And Fallon Hogan says she is excited, too.

“I am thrilled and honored to be part of opening night at Kevin Smith’s first film festival as Kevin paved the way for independent filmmakers and is now providing a venue for all filmmakers, which Monmouth County, and all of New Jersey will greatly benefit from,” Fallon Hogan said.

“I am beyond excited for a homegrown audience to experience 'Shelter in Solitude' for the first time, given the involvement of local residents in the production,” she added.

Fallon Hogan has been an actress on stage and screen for more than three decades in productions such as "Forrest Gump," "Men in Black," "SNL," "Seinfeld," "Dancer in the Dark," and New York Shakespeare Festival’s "As You Like It."

She penned her first screenplay "Rushed," released by Vertical Entertainment, last fall. Octane Entertainment sold the film internationally to 13 countries, including the U.K., Australia, France, Spain, the Middle East and more.

Fallon Hogan received a 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Film Threat review site said, “Fallon Hogan is the driving force behind 'Rushed,' both as lead actor and screenwriter.”

The "Shelter in Solitude" world premiere will be at 8:30 p.m. on opening night, Nov. 30, at the SModCastle Film Festival 82 First Ave., Atlantic Highlands. For tickets go to smodcastle.com.

It is Emerald Caz Production’s second film. The indie company’s first film, "Rushed," premiered in theaters in 2021 and is now streaming on Amazon, Apple & On Demand. Emerald Caz Productions was formed by Peter Hogan and Siobhan Fallon Hogan in 2018.
