Newsworthy This Week: Meetings, Back-to-School, Remembering 9/11

It's what's going on in the Rumson-Fair Haven area this week.

Happy Monday, friends and fans!

What a great first local summer weekend it was. Right? With weather cooperating quite nicely, there were tons of events and some quality beach time to take advantage of before the first day of school.

Today's that day for most in the area. So, we'll have some photos and back-to-school tidbits later.

In the meantime, guess what? Great weather again, today. It's supposed to be mostly sunny with high temperatures near 73 degrees. And the rest of the week looks pretty much the same, except that there's a nasty little chance of thunderstorms for Wednesday night (30 percent).

And, here's the tide table for Sea Bright today:

2013-09-09 12:16 p.m.   3.70 feet  High Tide
2013-09-09  6:34 p.m.    0.16 feet  Low Tide
2013-09-09  7:14 p.m.    Sunset
2013-09-10 12:31 a.m.   3.30 feet  High Tide
2013-09-10  6:32 a.m.    Sunrise
2013-09-10  6:40 a.m.    0.15 feet  Low Tide

And, here's the mystical moon and sun information of the day from www.tides4fishing.com:

"The moon will rise in the southeast (109º) at 10:51 a.m. and will set in the southwest (249º) at 9:28 p.m. ... The lunar phase is a Waxing Crescent. Today we have 12 hours and 42 minutes of sun. The solar transit is at 12:53 pm and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 10 hours and 37 minutes."
