Organic Smoothies and Juices Coming to Fairwinds Deli

Fairwinds Deli will begin to serve Freshicas organic juices and smoothies this summer.

’s delicious fare is getting a boost of fresh fruits and vegetables with the help of a local resident’s passion for juicing.

Rumson mom Jessica Dalmedo, has always made healthy living a priority.  As a vegetarian, Dalmedo started juicing fruits and vegetables after reading a book about the benefits of it. After learning about all the benefits people can get from juicing fruits and vegetables Dalmedo started making healthy drinks at home for her family, and has now turned it into her new business, Freshicas.

“You can’t get all the vegetables and fruits your body needs by eating them,” explained Dalmedo. “By juicing fruits and vegetables you can get massive amount of nutrients into your body quickly.”

Another benefit to juicing is that by combining multiple fruits and vegetables together they can taste delicious even if you don’t like them normally. And as an added healthy bonus, none of Freshicas' drinks have added sugar to them.

“I can put spinach into my juices and my kids don’t even realize it. Actually whenever my kids see me with a green drink they try to have a sip or take it from me,” said Dalmedo.

Currently Freshicas is planning on being open Thursday through Sunday beginning with their grand opening on Friday, June 1. More information about Freshicas can be seen at the company’s Facebook page, but be sure to check out Freshicas' drink menu in this article’s photo gallery.

Until the grand opening, Dalmedo invites anyone to stop in to Freshicas counter in Fairwinds Deli and taste a sample of her nutrient packed and delicious drinks. All questions are also welcomed because according to Dalmedo, “Juicing is not a fad, it is a way of life and it can easily fit into any active lifestyle.”
