Riding in the Name of Cyclist's Recovery

The bike ride was in support of Cole Porter, the cyclist seriously injured in the Tour de Fair Haven.

They gathered together to generate all the positive energy they could for a seriously injured friend.

They are about 50 cyclists who did what they knew best would muster up the enigmatic magic they wanted to send their buddy's way. They rode.

They rode from Red Bank's Marine Park to Holmdel and back for Cole Porter, the Shrewsbury cyclist and triathlete who was hurt in an accident in Sunday's Tour de Fair Haven that has left him in the Intensive Care Unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Most donned newly crafted pink heart "Ride for Cole" logo t-shirts. They chatted, offered one another support, heard a few words about Porter and literally rode uphill off into the sunset in the name of their fellow cyclist's recovery.

"Love saves the day" were the words that could be seen as they rode past.

Take a look at the photo gallery above for a glimpse into the start of the ride. And stay tuned for a video. Ride on ... to a successful recovery, Cole!
