Road, Curbing Improvement Program Outlined For Rumson

The Rumson Borough Council has awarded a contract for its 2023 two-phase improvement program for certain borough roads.

RUMSON, NJ — The Rumson Borough Council has awarded contracts for the 2023 Road Improvement Phase I and Phase II projects.

Phase I of the program consists of the installation of concrete curbs, select sidewalk replacement, driveway apron replacement, installation of ADA accessible curb ramps, drainage pipe replacement, and pavement resurfacing on Wardell Avenue, Riverside Drive and Ivins Place, the borough announced.

Phase II consists of work similar to Phase I on Allencrest Road, Azalea Lane, Briarwood Road, North Rohallion Drive, South Rohallion Drive and Van Circle.

Work is scheduled to begin once the current utility upgrade work is completed, the borough said.

The paving component of the program is being completed by New Jersey Natural Gas Co. as part of its infrastructure improvement program.

Following the official bid openings earlier this month, the projects were awarded to Lancha Construction Corp., Middlesex County, whose submission represented the lowest, most responsive bid, the borough said in a news release.

The Borough has worked with Lancha Construction Corp. on other major projects including, the East River Road curb and sidewalk improvements program, the borough said.
