Historic Preservation Commission Seeks Rumson Award Nominations
Nominations for the Rumson Historic Preservation Commission annual awards can be made through July 31.

RUMSON, NJ — It's time again to nominate properties or individuals for annual recognition by the Rumson Historic Preservation Commission.
The commission honors projects and/or individuals for their contributions to the preservation of the borough's historic resources, the commission said in a notice to residents.
The commission will be accepting nominations through July 31 for this year's five available Historic Awards.

"We encourage interested businesses, organizations and residents to participate," said Robert W. Adler, chairman of the commission.

- For a historic property to be eligible, it must be listed on the Borough’s Historic Properties website, except for the category of “New Construction- that looks like a historic property.”
- The awards may be given either in recognition of recent work undertaken or of a long-standing commitment to preservation.
- Properties are judged on the basis of exterior appearance only.
You may nominate a business, organization, your home or your neighbor’s home. If nominating a property other than your own, you must get permission from the business, organization or owners prior to submitting.
This year's categories are:
- Restoration/Rehabilitation of a historic property.
- Stewardship, long term maintenance of a historic property.
- New addition that blends into an existing historic structure.
- New construction that looks like a historic property.
- Preservation Champion, an individual historian or caretaker.
The nomination form and award program details are available on the organization's website at www.rumsonnj.gov/rhpc/awards.html.
All nominations must be received by July 31. The winners will be announced in the fall.
