Man Stole EZ Passes From Trucks Parked In Secaucus, Police Say

The break-ins all occurred Oct. 29, and the man was just arrested Friday:

SECAUCUS, NJ — A Belleville man was arrested Friday after Secaucus Police say he broke into several tractor trailers parked in Secaucus in October.

The break-ins all occurred Oct. 29: During the overnight hours on that date, someone broke into several trucks parked in a fenced-in parking lot on Henry Street and stole their E-Z Pass transponders and portable radios, valued at approximately $3,000 in total.

Secaucus Police identified Luis Najera Mendoza, 23, of Belleville as the suspect. He was arrested January 17.

During a consensual search of his home and car, Secaucus Police detectives said they recovered some of the stolen property. Mendoza was charged with two counts of burglary and theft. He was released, pending his appearance in court.
