After School Events Canceled In South Brunswick Due To Storm
The district has canceled all after school and evening activities for Tuesday but is expected to operate at the normal start time Wednesday.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A fierce storm is set to bring heavy rain, and moderate to major flooding to the Garden State on Tuesday.
As Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in the state, the South Brunswick School District has announced it has canceled all after school activities for Tuesday.
"In consultation with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and our own assessment related to the potential for some serious wet weather progressing during the afternoon hours, all after school and evening activities are canceled for today," the school district announced.

The Champions After School program will operate at its normal operating hours.
The heaviest rain will fall from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. Wednesday, with several rivers slated to experience “moderate to major flooding” across northern New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service said.

The school district is expected to operate at normal start time tomorrow. If anything changes parents and guardians will be informed via telephone call.
"In making these decisions, the safety of our students and staff are of the utmost importance to our district. While at this time we are planning on a normal start time for tomorrow, should anything change, you will receive a robocall in the morning," the district said.
