New Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar Officially Opens In Monroe

MONROE, NJ – Red Agave, a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar, recently celebrated its official grand opening in Monroe.

The restaurant and tequila bar is located at 211 Applegarth Road and brings authentic chef-driven cuisine and handcrafted cocktails to the area. They are open seven days a week for lunch starting at 11:30 a.m.

The restaurant centers its menu around house-made tortillas crafted fresh daily, serving as the foundation for exceptional tacos including crispy Baja-style fish, carne asada, slow-simmered birria, and flavorful vegetarian options.

Red Agave also features an impressive collection of over 50 tequilas and mezcals, from small-batch bottles to rare finds. The bar offers handcrafted cocktails, beer, and international wines, with their $9 house-made margarita.

Menu highlights include appetizers like clams and chorizo with littleneck clams, chorizo, beer, cilantro, and charred lime, plus house-made empanadas filled with carnitas, chicken tinga, or birria. Entree selections feature grilled ahi tuna steak and a 12-ounce marinated pork chop served with yuca fries.

The restaurant caters to families with a kids' menu offering chicken tenders, quesadillas, and burgers. Late-night tequila tastings are also available for enthusiasts.
