South Brunswick Prepares Ahead Of Expected Snowstorm Friday

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall is expected between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of New Jersey, including South Brunswick, ahead of a snowstorm expected to bring up to 6 inches of snow early Friday, forecasters said.

In preparation for the upcoming weather event, South Brunswick has asked residents to remove all trash and recycling cans from the street and park their vehicles in the driveway, so snow removal crews can “work efficiently and effectively.”

The police department has asked commuters to leave extra time to reach their destination, and drive with caution on Friday.

The township has also asked residents to be prepared to remove snow from sidewalks after the storm, so pedestrians can walk safely.

Here’s the forecast for South Brunswick:

  • Thursday night: Snow mainly after midnight. Low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches is possible.
  • Friday: A chance of snow, mainly before 8 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually sunny, with a high near 35. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
