South Brunswick Ranked 10th Safest City in America to Raise a Child

The study looked at the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report, state graduation rates and school rankings.

South Brunswick, NJ - South Brunswick has been ranked the 10th safest town in America to raise a child, according to a new study put out by Safewise, a home security and safety advice website.

The study named The 30 Safest Cities to Raise a Child, and came up with the ranking by looking at violent crime data from the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report, state graduation rates and school rankings. They also looked for unique programs that were kid-friendly.

10. South Brunswick Township, New Jersey

As the tenth safest city to raise a family in America, South Brunswick Township has extremely low crime rates and ranks fifth in the country for best graduation rates (based on statewide data). In the first six months of 2016 crime is down in several categories, Chief Raymond Hayducka said, including a 40% drop in residential burglaries.

“Keeping crime low starts with partnerships at all levels – youth, schools, community groups, and the business community. This designation only makes us more determined to build on our success," he said.
