South Brunswick Schools Have Delayed Start, Road Closed
South Brunswick schools will have a delayed start time Tuesday with some reports of localized flooding, as a nor'easter slammed NJ.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - A powerful nor'easter slammed into the state Monday night, bringing rains across New Jersey.
As of the latest updates from South Brunswick, steady rain continues to fall and there are pockets of localized street flooding, but the majority of roads are passable. Raymond Road jughandle off Route 1 is currently closed.
Meanwhile, the South Brunswick school district announced a two-hour delayed start on Tuesday morning.

The flash flood warning until 8 a.m. in the area poses a concern for earlier start times for schools, the district said. "To give everyone time to prepare for school safely and avoid getting on the roads at this time, we will have a 2-hour delay for schools," Superintendent Scott Feder said in a letter to the community.
"We have many staff that live far from SB and this decision provides them an opportunity to safely get to school and avoid driving in the dark through potential flooding. It also gives HS drivers extra time to be safe this morning and wait for daylight," Feder said.

Police and emergency responders continue to work through the rain to keep roadways safe. South Brunswick officials reported drainage flooding on some roads, however, "issues do not look as severe as what we saw with Ida."
