
Two victims, a man and a woman were robbed at gunpoint while walking on Montrose Ave. from Ridgewood Road at 1:45 a.m. on July 28, police said.
The victim said four African-Americans, one of whom may have been a female, exited a light-colored vehicle which was parked in a driveway on Montrose Avenue. A suspect described as being 6 feet tall with a dark-colored shirt brandished a dark-colored handgun and took the victims' cell phones. They then fled in the car.
A victim said on July 28 at approximately 1:50 a.m. she was robbed of her handbag by an African-American man while she was walking on Ridgewood Road with her male friend.
The suspect exited a four door light-colored vehicle and ran after the victim, knocking her to the ground as he took her bag. The victim said she believed the suspect may have had a handgun. The suspect is described as being tall and thin.
Raphael Bablington, 60, of Maplewood, was arrested on July 22 at approximately 9:30 a.m. after officers responded to a call of suspected shoplifting at Rite Aid. Bablington refused to cooperate and was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.
